Lady of the Lake

Description

The Lady of the Lake is a character who adopts many roles in Arthurian literature, depending on the author--this is my interpretation, such as it is.

Behind the Scenes
I saw the stock image by `Elandria and just had to use it somewhere, and have been toying with this idea for a few days now, along with some other Arthurian-themed works. The piece sort of took off when I was searching for stock for the background, and stumbled across *resurgere's stock packs again, which are, to be honest, absolutely marvelous in every sense of the word.

This is my most complicated piece to date--if you want statistics, there were over thirty layers, not including the ones I forgot about as I merged them in with others. This took about five hours of work, with the odd interruption here or there; and this description has taken two tries to type because I can't seem to not accidentally refresh the page or screw it up some other way.

I used a new cutting and blending technique in this one--I'm actually kind of pleased with it. I also generated the mist myself, which turned out a lot better than I was expecting. If anyone wants tutorials, maybe that can be arranged.

Thanks to the stock providers:

Couldn't have done it without you. :D

This is a deviantART display piece only; it is not for the use of anyone. If it is found outside of deviantART, it has been misused.

...I think I need a better watermark. Trying to keep away from those giant "screw off" watermarks that are in style lately, hopefully I'll be able to get away with it.
